XMLmind XML Editor is a strictly validating, near WYSIWYG, XML editor, having:

  • Extensive DITA 1.3 support, including Lightweight DITA, XDITA, HDITA, MDITA.
  • Extensive DocBook support, including DocBook 5.1 assemblies.
  • Extensive XHTML5 support, including the ability to convert a set of HTML pages (an “ebook”) to EPUB, PDF, Web Help, DOCX, etc.
  • It also has a number of unique features such as a built-in, near WYSIWYG, MathML editor, industrial strength DOCX import facility, industrial strength RTF, WML, DOCX and ODT export facilities.

XMLmind XML Editor is highly customizable either by the end-user or by the local guru. XMLmind XML Editor is highly extensible without having to program (though it also has an extensive, well-documented, Java™ API).

XMLmind XML Editor is not a programmer's tool. Its users are generally technical writers, engineers and scholars who use it to write large, complex, modular, documents.
